Field Technician II / GIS Specialist
Ms. Kavalauskas is a Field Technician and GIS Specialist for Oxbow Associates, a wetlands and wildlife consulting company specializing in rare amphibian and reptile study and mitigation. Prior to joining Oxbow Associates, she was involved with various avian and amphibian wildlife studies investigating pesticides, habitat selection, and reproductive success. Her field work in Massachusetts has focused on vernal pool ecology and rare and endangered species of amphibians and turtles. As a technician for the Natural Heritage and Endangered Species Program-Herptile Conservation Project she worked with numerous rare species of amphibians and turtles native to eastern Massachusetts. In addition, Ms. Kavalauskas has been involved with a number of radio telemetry studies on four state listed species of turtle including the Blanding's turtle (Emydoidea blandingii), spotted turtle (Clemmys guttata), wood turtle (Clemmys insculpta), and eastern box turtle (Tarrapene carolina carolina).

Ms. Kavalauskas prepares local, state and federal wetland and environmental permit documents, as well as GIS based plan materials and maps. She also assists with wetland delineation, wetland boundary review, conducts reptile and amphibian surveys, vernal pool evaluations, and habitat evaluations.
